Underground Crates 2

The Underground Crates 2’ is the latest release in our series of boom bap and instrumental hip hop inspired expansions, featuring a creative blend of dusty drum kits, vinyl cuts, hip hop grooves and analog instruments.

Inside there’s 25 instrumental hip hop compositions built using a perfect blend of crunchy, layered drums and vintage-style melodic one shots, all produced to capture the gritty, warm feel of sampled vinyl cuts.

Each kit comes with a matching MIDI sequence featuring loose, boom bap-style drums layered over crusty atmospheric chords, hooks and thumping '16 Level' bass lines. The following demo features all 25 themes recorded directly from the MPC with no additional processing.

Each kit comes with pre-mapped Q-LINK macros to provide instant tweaking of FX and lofi parameters including the option to add extra vinyl, tape or analog noise to give extra vintage, lofi vibe to your beats.

All beat sequences are provided in MPC sequence format (SXQ) and in MIDI pattern format for maximum flexibility. Preview the grooves in your browser and load the MIDI directly into your project for an instant starting point for your own compositions.

And if you prefer to roll your own kits, we've fully organised and 'tagged' all 700 drums and melodic samples so you can quickly and easily build custom drum kits from scratch.

In addition to the themes, we’ve also included 20 sampled keygroup instruments including warm analog bass, brass, strings, pads, leads and keys. Just load up and play using pad perform or a MIDI keyboard, and just like the drum kits there’s plenty of Q-LINK macros available for hand-on adjusting of FX and lofi flavor.

The Underground Crates Vol 2 is fully compatible with all current generation standalone MPCs (e.g. MPC One/One+, MPC Live 1 & 2, MPC X, MPC Key) , Akai Force, MPC Software and MPC Beats . MPC 2.11 or greater required. Legacy versions of all kits, instruments & MIDI themes are also provided for the MPC1000/2500/500/5000 and JJOS.
