Real Bass Guitars. Built For MPCs

'Electric Bass 3' is our essential collection of multisampled vintage and modern bass guitars built for any MPC/Force running MPC3, MPC2 and even the new MPC Sample.

Now fully updated to utilise MPC3 advanced keygroups and custom Q-LINK macros, the expansion also includes 52 custom patches to give you a wide range of flexible, expressive bass guitar tones suitable for laying down realistic bass guitar riffs in any style of music.

Meet The Guitars

Electric Bass Guitar Models

The expansion assembles a dream wish list of classic and modern bass guitars, covering 4, 5 and 6 string models; Fender Precision Bass (60s & 70s models), Fender Jazz Bass, Hofner 500/1 'Cavern' Bass, Gibson EB-03, Rickenbacker 4001, Schecter Stiletto Studio 5, Fodera Monarch 6, Warwick GPS & Warwick Streamer LX.

Each guitar is multisampled across it's full note range, is built with full expressive control of string bends and vibrato and utilise 'round robins' to ensure natural changes in tone & timbre for each note played.

In addition to the ten 'raw' multisampled guitars we've built an additional 42 unique sound patches which use a range of different FX to create a variety of different bass tones.

All instruments are memory optimised, fully set up and ready to play; simply load up and immediately start adding your own unique bass guitar riffs to your projects using pad perform or attached MIDI keys.

  • 10 unique guitar models, plus 42 additional sound patches for additional tones and flavors
  • Ready-to-play using pad perform or MIDI keys

Craft Your Own Sound

Customise each bass guitar to make it your own using the sixteen pre-configured Q-LINK macros found in each instrument (MPC3 edition only).

Adjust tone, distortion, compression, delay and modulation. Tailor the mechanics of the guitar sound including dynamic range, attack transients, string dampening and release times. Blend in a lofi transient layer to add a unique noise texture for any instrument

MPC Sample Edition

MPC Sample Edition Included

While the MPC Sample doesn't directly support keygroup instruments, we've provided two different workarounds to give you playable bass guitars in your MPC Sample projects:

  1. 16 LEVEL One Shots - over 300 multisampled one shots created from all the different guitar patches, ready to drop into any MPC Sample kit for making bass riffs via 16 LEVELS
  2. Starter Projects - 10 pre-built projects that each feature a high quality, ready-to-play multisampled bass guitar chromatically mapped across banks B and C. Each guitar project comes with round robins for realistic sounding changes in tone & an optional 4 bar bass groove sequence.

With a starter project, your bass is pre-loaded into banks B & C, leaving all other banks for your drum kit and other sounds. Alternatively if you prefer to add the bass guitar to an existing project, use the 16 LEVELS option instead. Read more in the User Guide

Optimised For Standalone

As with all our MPC instrument expansions, memory and CPU usage is highly optimised to ensure you have absolutely no problems dropping these instruments into any MPC project, no matter which model you are using. They also don't eat into any of your allotted plugin slots.

Built For MPC & Force

Electric Bass 3 is compatible with all modern standalone MPCs, the MPC Sample, MPC Software, MPC Beats & Akai Force.

FAQs

  • Does this expansion work with MPC3 and MPC2?

Yes, the expansion includes separate versions for MPC3 and MPC2 making it compatible with all modern MPCs, Akai Force, MPC Software and MPC Beats. It also comes with an edition made specifically for the MPC Sample.

  • How do I use this in the MPC Sample?

We provide two ways to use this expansion in the MPC Sample. The first option is to use the 300+ multisampled bass one shots with the 16 LEVELS feature to a 16 note chromatic bass instrument from any pad in your current project. The second option is via the 10 'starter projects'. Each project loads with a 32 note multisampled bass instrument mapped chromatically across the pads of bank B and bank C. This instrument utilises many samples (including round robins) and is the closest we can currently get to a proper 'keygroup' instrument on an MPC Sample.

  • What is a round robin?

To mimic the subtle changes in timbre you can hear each time you play a note on an acoustic instrument, we record multiple 'takes' for each note and set up the MPC program to play back one of these samples randomly each time you play that particular note. This is referred to as a 'round robin'.

  • How easy is it to customise the instruments?

We've included sixteen MPC3 Q-LINK macros in all instruments which give you instant hands-on control of many different aspects of the instrument including string damping, release time, dynamic range, attack transients, lofi noise layer and various FX such as distortion, chorus, compression, EQ and delay. For deeper control, head over to 'TRACK EDIT' where you can use the MPC3 'advanced keygroup' interface to customise any parameter you wish, or use the XL channel strips for more granular editing of FX settings. MPC Sample users can easily control the FX applied across the instrument via the 'PAD FX' screen and make changes to filters and envelopes via the SAMPLE screen.

  • Can I play these instruments with a MIDI control keyboard?

Yes, just hook up your keyboard to your MPC (via USB, MIDI cable etc) and you can immediately play the instruments with the keyboard. Set up instructions are provided in the User Guide.

  • I can’t play keyboard, can I still use these instruments?

Yes! You can play the instruments directly with your pads via PAD PERFORM mode which maps pre-built chords and scales across your pads.
