Platinum Percussion contains a diverse array of multisampled percussion samples from all continents around the world, featuring skins, congas, timbales, tablas, shakers, sticks and many more unique and wonderful drums and ethnic percussive instruments.
Each articulation is beautifully multisampled with up to four ‘round robins’ to provide realistic variations in timbre and dynamics. We've assigned the articulations to ready-to-play MPC programs, with round robins set up in 'cycle' mode to play back a different dynamic variation each time you strike a pad (legacy MPCs are set up in 'velocity switching' mode).
In total there are over 50 unique instruments sampled including:

Will this expansion work in my sampler?
This expansion is compatible with all MPCs! For modern standalone MPCs and Akai Force we've included a dedicated drag-and-drop 'standalone' installer, for the MPC Software/MPC beats there is an XPN installer, and for legacy MPCs there are dedicated folders containing all the samples and programs that can be transferred to your preferred MPC disk.

What are Cycle Kits?
In a cycle kit each pad is configured to play back a different version (or 'take') of the instrument each time the pad is hit. These samples are called 'round robins' and each round robin sounds slightly different, which helps mimic the natural change in dynamics, tone and timbre of the original acoustic instrument.

Will this install a full 'standalone' expansion into a standalone MPC or Force?
Yes, the resulting expansion contains program previews, full 'tagging' for easy file searching and displays the product artwork in your browser. It's fully compatible with standalone mode, and the additional XPN installer is fully compatible with the MPC Software/MPC Beats (and any MPC running in 'controller mode').

Does this expansion work with the Akai Force?
Yes, all our MPC Expansions can also be installed in the Akai Force. Simply use the supplied 'standalone' installer and drag and drop this to the 'Expansions' folder on your Akai Force disk. The supplied User Guide contains full installation instructions.
