Pad Pimps are proud to present The Source, our largest MPC instrument expansion with over 300 leads, pads, bass, keys, organs, plucks and strings for MPCs & the Akai Force, suitable for all styles of electronic music including trap, lofi, hip hop and house.
The Source is are using thousands of analog and digital synth multisamples combined with the MPC’s own native filters, LFO, envelopes and FX, for an unparalleled collection of rich & evolving instruments, all optimised for super-fast loading & minimal CPU.
Each instrument is pre-mapped chromatically for you so you can just load it and play – no need for any configuration or tweaking; simply load your chosen instruments and start playing chords, riffs and melodies on your pads or via an attached keyboard. Average program size is only 6MB, so there’s waiting around for any program to load and no latency when playing. All instruments are fully compatible with Pad Perform Mode and the arpeggiator.
All instruments are fully categorised and ‘tagged’ using the MPCs own native tagging system for fast and easy browser searching/filtering, with program previews provided for every single instrument so it’s always easy to find the exact sound you need.

Requirements:
The Source is compatible with any modern MPC running MPC 2.10 or greater. This means it is 100% compatible with any of the following:
- MPC X, MPC X SE, MPC Live (I & II), MPC One/One+, MPC Key 61
- Akai Force
- MPC Software 2.10 or greater
- MPC Beats App
- MPC Renaissance/MPC Studio/MPC Touch running MPC Software 2.10+
- Any non-MPC controller that can be mapped to MPC Beats or the MPC Software 2.10+
The download contains a dedicated installer for standalone MPCs (including the Force) and a separate XPN installer for the MPC Software and MPC Beats. Full step-by-step installation instructions are provided in the included User Guide. Total disk space required is 2.0 GB.

Does this expansion support the arpeggiator and pad perform mode?
Yes, all our instruments are built using keygroup programs so they fully support features such as pad perform snd the arpeggiator in all modern MPCs and the Akai Force.

Can I play the instruments with a MIDI keyboard?
Yes, you can use any attached keyboard, or just use the pads (or both!). All instruments also feature mod wheel controlled vibrato and string bend via the pitch wheel.

Is this easy to install on the MPC X/Live/One/Force?
Yes, very easy, we provide a 'standalone' version of the expansion which you simply drag and drop to your MPC/Force disk. Full installation instructions are included in the expansion download.

Do the instruments take up much memory?
No! We spend a lot of time optimising our programs to use the smallest memory possible, including the use of sustain looping. Most programs are in the region of a few MB each so will have little impact on your MPC's memory and you'll be able to quickly load dozens of instruments into any project.

Are these instruments synthesised or acoustic?
All the instruments in this collection are synthesised, using multisamples recorded from our collection of synths combined with subtractive synthesis techniques (utilising the MPC's own filters, LFO, envelopes and FX).
