New 2.0 Edition: Now with enhanced velocity switching and improved expression controls & FX!
‘MPC Orchestral Pro Edition’ features a complete multisampled chamber orchestra in MPC Expansion format, all recorded directly from the original acoustic instruments built for optimised playback in all modern MPCs and the Akai Force.
Whether you need immense string sections, haunting woodwinds, powerful brass stabs or haunting piano lines, this epic expansion has you covered with an incredible array of acoustic orchestral instruments:
- Strings: Violin (solo), violin (section), viola (section), cello section, contrabass, harp
- Wind: Flute, Alto flute, Bass Flute, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, Piccolo
- Brass: Tuba, Tenor Trombone, Trumpet
- Keys - Orchestral Piano, Harpsichord
- Melodic Percussion: Xylophone, Celesta, Vibraphone, Marimba, Brass Bells
- Orchestral Drum Kit: Featuring bass drums, snares, cymbals, maracas, tambourine, shakers, skins and various other percussion sounds.
Most instruments are provided with multiple articulations to provide different playing styles with wind and brass including ‘sustain’ and ‘staccato’ (short stabs), while most strings include sustain, pizzicato (plucked), spiccato (short bow bounce) and tremolo (rapid alternating bowing). The combination of these different articulations gives incredibly realistic results - check out the demo, made entirely within an MPC Live:
We’ve spent many hours painstakingly building these MPC keygroup programs from the ground-up to incorporate features such as dynamic layers, round robins, velocity sensitive filtering and mod wheel controlled vibrato.
We’ve also ensured that all the programs are optimised for minimal memory footprint in standalone MPCs and the Akai Force, so loading multiple instruments into your standalone project won’t be a problem.
The Expansion is fully compatible with all the latest generation standalone MPCs running MPC2 and MPC3, Akai Force, MPC Software and MPC Beats. All content is fully ‘tagged’ for the expansion & media browsers and program previews provided for all instruments.
MPC Orchestral Pro Edition is the most complete orchestral expansion available for MPCs today and an absolute must-have for any MPC producer who needs to add realistic orchestral elements to their beats!
Built For Modern MPCs & Force
MPC Orchestral Pro is compatible with all modern standalone MPCs running MPC2 & MPC3, the MPC Software, MPC Beats and the Akai Force.

FAQs
-
Is this easy to install in standalone MPCs and the Force?
Yes, we provide two separate installers, one for 'standalone' use and one for installation directly into the MPC Software/MPC Beats. The standalone version is simply copied directly to the 'Expansions' folder on your MPC/Force disk, the MPC Software XPN file is just dragged directly into the software. Full instructions for both standalone and MPC Software installation are provided in the included User Guide.
-
Does this work in standalone MPCs and the Akai Force?
Yes, it's 100% compatible with all modern MPCs such as the MPC X/SE, MPC Live 1,2 & 3, MPC One/One+, MPC Key and Akai Force. We've included a dedicated 'standalone' installer for easy drag-and-drop installation to your standalone MPC disk (plus an XPN file for optional MPC Software installation).
-
Does this work with the MPC-Software & MPC Beats?
Yes! In addition to the 'standalone MPC' installer we also provide a dedicated expansion installer for the MPC Software and MPC Beats; just drag and drop directly into the software. Full installation instructions are included with the expansion.
-
What is a round robin?
To mimic the subtle changes in timbre you can hear each time you play a note on an acoustic instrument, we record multiple 'takes' for each note and set up the MPC program to play back one of these samples randomly each time you play that particular note. This is referred to as a 'round robin'.
-
Can I play these instruments with a MIDI control keyboard?
Yes, just hook up your keyboard to your MPC (via USB, MIDI cable etc) and you can immediately play the instruments with the keyboard. Set up instructions are provided in the User Guide.
-
I can’t play keyboard, can I still use these instruments?
Yes! You can play the instruments directly with your pads and they also fully support PAD PERFORM mode which maps pre-built chords and scales across your pads.
