MPC MS20 is our tribute to the classic analog synth, the Korg MS20, featuring a rich collection of fat multisampled instruments for all modern standalone MPCs, the Akai Force and the MPC Software.
We’ve multisampled our favourite custom-built patches using thousands of seamlessly sustain-looped samples and transformed them into expressive, velocity-sensitive polyphonic instruments using the MPCs own filters, FX, envelopes and LFO.
Inside there’s a full suite of synth instruments included, all perfectly capturing that original thick & powerful MS20 sound with over 100 basses, subs, keys, organs, leads, brass, plucks, pads and strings.
All instruments are fully compatible with pad perform and the arpeggiator making them perfect for creating your own melodic leads, riffs and chord progressions. Pitch bend and mod-wheel controlled LFO is also possible when using an attached MIDI keyboard allowing for even more expression to your performances.
We’ve also pre-configured Q-LINK control of portamento to give adjustable glide between notes, and all instruments are fully editable just like any other MPC program, so you can easily tweak FX, filters and envelopes to create your own custom patches.

FAQs
-
Does this expansion support the arpeggiator and pad perform mode?
Yes, all our instruments are built using keygroup programs so they fully support features such as pad perform snd the arpeggiator in all modern MPCs and the Akai Force.
-
Can I play the instruments with a MIDI control keyboard?
Yes, no problem. You can use a keyboard or just use the pads (or both).
-
Is this easy to install on the MPC X/Live/One/Force?
Yes, very easy, we provide a 'standalone' version of the expansion which you simply drag and drop to your MPC/Force disk. Full installation instructions are included in the expansion download.
-
Do the instruments take up much memory?
No! We spend a lot of time optimising our programs to use the smallest memory possible, including the use of sustain looping. Most programs are in the region of a few MB each so will have little impact on your MPC's memory and you'll be able to quickly load dozens of instruments into any project.
-
Are these instruments synthesised or acoustic?
All the instruments in this collection are synthesised, using multisamples recorded from our collection of synths combined with subtractive synthesis techniques (utilising the MPC's own filters, LFO, envelopes and FX). If you are specifically looking for a collection of multisampled acoustic instruments, check out the MPC Instrument Collection.
