Your search for 'go-to' MPC 808 kit is finally over! 808 Evolution from Canedrive & Pad Pimps features a phenomenal collection of 336 drum machine sounds resampled and layered with a sublime array of vintage samplers and analog sources that most self-respecting studios would die for: ASR 10, Emu SP12, Akai S950, analog tape and vinyl.
The first part of the expansion contains the 'analog showdown', with two kits each resampled through the different samplers to give each kit it's own unique tone, grit and flavor
The demos below showcase both kits through all six of its variants on the same 2 bar beat (running order: Clean > Vinyl >Tape > S950 > SP12 > ASR10).
The expansion then takes the electronic/analog blend even further with it's unique 'Hybrid Drum Library' containing a scorching collection of 144 drum machine kicks, snares and hats expertly layered with acoustic drum samples and a variety of organic tones & textures to produce a shuddering blend of drum timbres.
We've also included MIDI patterns for all kits which can be mixed and matched between kits - you can also use the MIDI grooves in our dedicated MPC pattern expansions.
New Update 2.5: Now includes a dedicated MPC Sample Edition with dedicated projects for each kit containing a matchin drum groove, plus fully tagged and orgaised drum library for easy custom kit building.

Yes, the download now includes a dedicated installer for the MPC Sample. This contains projects kits & sequences along with the one shot 'hybrid' drum library for building your own custom kits.

What are MIDI Drum patterns?
Midi drum patterns are short MIDI performances which can be loaded directly to a track in an MPC/Akai force as standard MIDI events – match them with a drum kit to instantly add grooves with a 'real drummer' human feel. The tempo and contents of the resulting MIDI track are fully editable to your exact needs using standard MPC sequencing tools (e.g. grid edit, list edit etc) and you are free to assign different drum kits to the pattern until you find the exact combination you need.

Can I make my own kits with the samples?
Yes, in addition to the ready-made kits we include all the individual one shot samples, all full 'tagged' with Akai's standard naming system so you can quickly find the exact type of sound you need directly form the MPC browser.

Is this expansion also compatible with legacy MPCs?
Yes, the download also includes a version of the expansion designed for the following legacy MPCs: MPC1000/5000/2500/500. It features all kits (PGM format), MIDI grooves (in SEQ format) and one shot samples.
