163 live drum breaks, authentically recorded for a warm vintage vibe, completely original and royalty free.
You probably know that we normally create all our sounds in-house, but when I first heard the live drum breaks in 'Dirty Drum Breaks Vol 1', I realised this was something truly special, and was something I had to put up on MPC-Samples.com!
Timmy Rickard is a popular London-based drummer/producer who also runs the Monosole Music label. His sound and style is heavily influenced by the 60s downbeat funk revolution, and all 163 live drum breaks in this collection perfectly epitomise that vintage vibe.
The drumming is refreshing simple, tight and funky, while the overall production sound is completely reminiscent of the classic drum sounds of the 60s and 70s, but with a more contemporary 'big bottom end'. Recorded with a single Coles 4038 ribbon mic, a 60s Gretsch kit and a collection of hi-end outboard, the drums themselves have that classic vintage gritty thump us hip hop heads just love - chop, twist, mangle or do with whatever you want with them. All royalty free and completely original.
Take a listen to the demo, which contains full quality breaks taken directly from the pack - here’s a video of Timmy Rickard performing one of the breaks:
Hear these breaks in action on Es-K's 'Spontaneous Grooves 9' album, where every single drum track on the album started out as a break from 'Dirty Drum Breaks Vol 1'! Here's a preview from the album, (you can listen to and buy the entire album from Beatport):
