If you’re tired of using ready-made loops and are looking to create your own unique MPC piano riffs, chords and melodies without having to hire a session musician, why not turn your Akai MPC into a virtual piano with 'MPC Keys'! This pack features 5 multisampled pianos and keyboards mapped out in MPC programs which can be played either by using your MPC pads or by hooking up am external  MIDI control keyboard.

Each program has very low memory requirements (the largest program is 8MB), making them ideal for use in legacy MPCs (16MB minimum RAM recommended). The following instruments are included:

  • Jazz Piano - A cool, laid back jazzy piano sound sampled over 5 octaves.
  • Grand Piano - A classical sounding piano sampled over 5 octaves.
  • Rhodes - Classic rhodes sound sampled over 4 octaves.
  • Wurlitzer - The 'other' classic electric piano sound sampled over 4 octaves
  • Dirty EP - an old, dirty electric piano sampled over 4 octaves

Play your own riffs, loops and solos without the need to worry about sample or copyright clearance - 'MPC Keys' allows Akai MPC owners to build authentic piano performances simply by loading up a single PGM into memory! Suitable for all MPCs and available for download instantly after purchase.

Please note that 'MPC Keys' contains very low memory usage programs making it perfect for legacy MPC models (MPC5000/1000/2500/4000/2000XL). If you have a newer MPC running the MPC Software we do offer other packs that take advantage of the larger memory available in these machines - check the section pertaining to your MPC model for the best packs currently available.

Built For Modern MPCs & Force

is compatible with all modern standalone MPCs running MPC2 & MPC3, the MPC Software, MPC Beats and the Akai Force.

FAQs

  • What are multisamples and what can I do with them?

Multisamples involve sampling many notes from an instrument and mapping out these notes into MPC programs - the result is a very realistic recreation of the original instrument mapped out across the pads in your MPC. You can then create your own realistic loops, riffs and solos using only your MPC.

  • How easy is it to use multisamples in my MPC?

Very easy! Just load up a multisample program just like you would any other program. Now just bash the pads and create your own unique loops and solos! And if you prefer playing with a MIDI keyboard, no problem - just connect the keyboard MIDI out to the MPC MIDI in and play the keyboard keys - your realistic instrument sounds will be output from your MPC (we've even re-ordered all pads so they match standard chromatic order on keyboards).

  • Will legacy multisamples work in my MPC?

Our legacy multisample instruments are made exclusively for vintage 'legacy' MPC models, specifically: MPC5000, MPC1000/2500/500/JJOS, MPC2000XL. We'd recommend you max out your system RAM to get the best out of them. Please note that legacy multisamples are not suitable for modern MPCs - you should instead use the expansions found in our MPC Instrument Expansions category as these take full advantage of modern MPC features.

  • Are your instrument multisamples looped?

Yes many are but only where it's appropriate to loop the samples to allow infinite sustain - typically this would be for synth and string instruments. For most other instruments, such as guitar, bass and piano we have sampled the sounds to their natural decay.

  • Do you add effects to your multisamples?

Definitely not. It is important that professional multisamples are presented 'dry', with no delay effects (e.g. reverb, chorus, delay etc). This ensures you have maximum control over the multsamples, leaving you to add whatever effects you wish to your multisample performances.

  • What about that lush chorus I hear on the Rhodes demo?

This was added to the entire Rhodes program during final tracking of the demo - we simply used the standard internal effects of the MPC for this (chorus and tremolo). As we keep all multisamples dry, you are free to add whatever effects you wish to get the exact sound you need for your beat.
